Red Eye Investigation

There are many causes of Red Eye, some of little concern and some very serious.

On the Wirral (as long as your GP is within the CCG ) there is a scheme that allows opticians to use their knowledge, experience and appropriate equipment to investigate Red Eyes and recommend treatment or refer appropriately.

Previously there was no provision under the NHS to see such patients. These appointments are not an eye examination, but an investigation that provides treatment for many eye conditions, often on the same day, and this Community Ophthalmology Service is the first of its kind in the UK.

Dylan Barton, David McGowan, Emma Hayden, Emma Bennett and Lianne Iles can all provide this service. So if you have a Red Eye, Sticky Eye, Watery Eye and especially if any pain then please do get in touch!
